ICI MÊME 96 pages couleurs - 30x24cm, 4 coloris couvertures au choix édité à 1000 ex. plus de 50 pages d'illustrations 2 pages d'entretien par artistes ICI MÊME est à la fois une exposition et son propre catalogue, une forme hybride réalisée par l'association In extenso. Pratiquer l'exposition, c'est tout d'abord investir un espace physique tridimensionnel. Ce livre explore d'autant mieux cette confrontation qu'il se substitue à l'espace réel pour privilégier l'espace virtuel. L'argument est hardi mais l'expérimentation vaut le détour là où, précisément, elle propose de nouveaux cheminements. La raison même du présent ouvrage : la conquête de nouveaux espaces, et par conséquent, de nouvelles réflexions au sujet de l'exposition. Exposer (dans son acception contemporaine) repose sur la confrontation d'une oeuvre à un lieu dans une relation plus ou moins significative et plus ou moins englobante. ICI MÊME, par sa virtualité, associe uniformément oeuvre(s) et espace(s) proposant ainsi une représentation unique de l'exposition. Unicité d'autant plus assujettie aux perspectives des artistes invités, que ces derniers ont précisément déterminés le point de vue (spectatoriel) donné à chacun de leurs projets. Exposition donc où le « visiteur », tout en étant diminué de sa pratique (parcourir physiquement et librement l'exposition), s'enrichit par les compléments que lui apporte son autre statut, celui de « lecteur ». C'est le va et vient entre ces deux positionnements qui peut permettre une mise en relief des projets présentés. Nous pouvons ainsi participer activement à la matérialisation des différents éléments de l'exposition qui questionnent autant les limites du livre (parfois même à l'extrême limite) que leur projection en-dehors. ICI MÊME associe 17 artistes dans le but d'utiliser un support bi-dimensionnel comme un lieu particulier d'exposition. Nos choix artistiques se sont simplement organisés afin de proposer la plus grande diversité de réponses qu'il nous était possible de concentrer « ici même ». Martial Déflacieux

ICI MEME is on sale now priced €20 (96 pages, 30 x 24 cm) close X ICI MEME (2006 /2007) is both an exhibition and its own catalogue, a hybrid creation realised by the In Extenso Association. The exhibition process is above all the investment of a physical three dimensional space. This publication explores this notion by substituting the real with a priviledged virtual space. Born from the search for new exhibition spaces, the premise is bold, and ICI MEME's experiment offers fresh angles from which to view the notion of exhibition. The act of exhibiting depends of the confrontation between a piece of art and a space, in varying degrees of significance and totality. ICI MEME, in its virtual form, associates art and space in uniformity, determined both by the printed book medium itself, and by each artist's choice in determining the specific point from which to view their project. The “spectators”, therefore, while being reduced in their physical ability to move freely with the exhibition, are enhanced by their role as “reader”. It is this relationship between the two positions occupied by the exhibition's virtual visitors which define the works presented. Visitors find themselves actively engaged in the exhibition, questioning both the limitations of the book form and the work projected outside of it. ICI MEME brings together 17 artists with the objective of utilising a two-dimensional support as the location of an exhibition. The selection of artists was made simply to reflect the greatest diversity of responses that could be presented “ici meme” (“here itself”). Martial Déflacieux
